Many people raised the question of what will the Potter children do next when the hugely successful film franchise finished filming in June 2010 (has it really been nearly three years wow time flies).
Well, Emma Watson is carving a successful film career with films such as The Perks of Being a Wallflower and the upcoming The Bling Ring. Rupert Grint fulfilled his childhood ambition of owning his own ice cream truck. Of course Daniel Radcliffe has had huge success in ventures such as the bone-chilling The Woman in Black, will soon be portraying beat poet Alan Ginsburg in the biopic Kill Your Darlings, and is soon to be back on the West End stage for the Martin McDonagh play The Cripple of Inishmaan.
Well it looks like June and July are going to be very busy months for the theatre going fans of Harry Potter in London, as it has just been announced that Bonnie Wright, the beautiful Ginny Weasley/Potter is going to making her London stage debut in Sir Peter Ustinov’s play The Moment of Truth at The Southwark Playhouse.
The play running from June 26 to July 20 is a gripping tale of tale of toppling governments, war and propaganda. It is set in a republic on the verge of collapse and of its government; only its unpopular Prime Minister and naïve Foreign Minister remain in a cabinet office where toy soldiers mask the reality of war, as the invading army inches closer.
This play marks a departure for Wright who has done mainly small parts in films since the end of the Harry Potter franchise; however it seems a brave choice and one I hope I can get to see.
The Moment of Truth will be playing at The Southwark Playhouse June 26 – July 20.
