American Idol is reportedly facing another shake up as reports have surfaced that original show producers, Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warrick, are no longer working on the show. An insider close to the struggling show explained the situation to The Wrap. However, neither Fox nor any of the American Idol representatives have confirmed Lythgoe and Warwick’s departure from the show. Lythgoe and Warwick launched the show together during its inaugural season in 2002 and also worked on its predecessor, Britain’s Pop Idol. Lythgoe left Idol in 2008 then returned in 2010.
The rumors of a producer shake up come shortly after Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey both confirm they would parting ways with the show.
So tell us, is a complete overhaul the best way to save Idol?
