The first trailer for the sequel to the epic historical action film 300 has hit the internet everyone! The sequel, 300: Rise of an Empire, is not being directed by Zach Snyder again. Snyder is returning as a producer for the sure to be epic sequel. Noam Murro is taking the directing reigns on this one. Judging by his past films, comedy Smart People, this will be quite the change for him.
The movie takes place the same time that which 300 took place and focuses on another battle between the ancient Greeks and the Persians. The movie is based off of the Frank Miller graphic novel Xerses. Some history and backstory on the Persian King, played by Rodrigo Santoro, will be covered in the film as well.
Lena Headey and David Wenham will be returning and reprising their roles as Queen Gorgo and Dilios, respectively. New faces will appear this time around as well, including the likes of Sullivan Stapelton, Hans Matheson, Jack O’Connell, Igal Naor and Eva Green.
The trailer looks great and it looks like they are definitely keeping with their excellent cinematography from the first film which was one of the reasons the film succeeded. Take a look for yourself in the trailer below!
