12 Years A Slave, a story of slavery in the Deep South, is based on the autobiography of Solomon Northup, a free man who was tricked and sold into slavery.  The title role is being played by British actor Chiwetel Ejiofor.  The supporting cast which reads like a who’s who of Hollywood, includes Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, American Horror Story regular Sarah Paulson and one of the busiest men in the industry, Benedict Cumberbatch.  Other cast members include Dwight Henry of Beasts of the Southern Wild and his Oscar nominated co-star Quvenzhane Wallis.

Benedict Cumberbatch is playing Northup’s first owner, the Baptist preacher William Ford and Fassbender is playing a ruthless plantation owner.  Sarah Paulson is playing Mistress Epps, who is the wife of Fassbender’s character.  Not much is not of Brad Pitt’s small role in the movie, however he also acts the producer so therefore of vital importance.  McQueen has been quoted as saying “Without Brad, this film wouldn’t have been made. Fact.”

The movie which is due to open on December 27 this year, has a performance from Michael Fassbender, which is fierce and something that no one’s ever seen before.  This movie sounds like it is not for the faint of heart.
