THIS JUST IN: Robert Downey Jr. has signed on for the Avengers 2 and 3!
Iron Man fans rejoice, for Marvel had announced that RDJ will reprising his role as Tony Stark and Iron Man in both of the new installments in the Avengers franchise.
The confirmation was sent after Joss Whedon announced that he had no intentions of continuing the series without Downey.
Also expected to rejoin Downey on the big screen are Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, and Jeremy Renner.
Joss Whedon’s Avengers 2 is due to begin production in March of 2014, and it’s supposed to hit theaters on May 1, 2015.
