Mr. Springsteen recently told Rolling Stone that the band spent some time in Australia working with Mr. Morello in a studio recording tracks.  “We’ve never had a recording session during a tour in our lives. We did a couple of things that I wanted to put down. So that was very exciting” said Springsteen.

And he only had good things to say about working with Tom and the band: “And being with Tommy was exciting. The band – Steven, Nilis, all those guys – continues to be a source of inspiration for me.”

Mr. Springsteen suggests that work on the new music is “ongoing” and that he is really enjoying playing with the E Street Band.  “I have stuff I’m working on that I’m very happy about. I hate to say, because I don’t like to be wrong… But I have a lot of material. I still feel like I’m, in the middle of the well” he said.

He also said “I always used to say, in the past decades, that I wanted to make more records- and I’ve done that.” The singer also said “I struggled through the 90’s. We weren’t playing together… But this has been a great, tremendously rewarding period of our time together. This has been the best 10, 12 years we’ve ever had.”

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are touring in Europe right now and are scheduled to play in Gijon, Spain tonight (June 26).

The singer also paid tribute to Sopranos star James Gandolfini by playing “Born to Run” in full at concert in Coventry, UK on June 20th. Bandmate Steven Van Zandt was a co-star of Mr. Gandolfini.
