Redmayne is replacing the previous 13-year-long CEO of HarperCollins U.K, Victoria Barnsley.  Pottermore co-founder and Rowling’s Literary Agent, Neil Blair, said: “We’d like to thank Charlie for his great work on Pottermore. As it enters an exciting new phase of development, with the support of primary partner Sony, and also of Warner Bros, Pottermore is in great shape, with a robust in-house team in place, and CTO Julian Thomas at the helm in the transition process,” reports PaidContent.

“Steering Pottermore through such a groundbreaking time in its development has been a great experience, and I am proud of what we have achieved. We have built up a brilliant in-house team at Pottermore, and I know I am leaving it in the best possible hands. I am excited for its future under new leadership, where it will continue to push the boundaries of digital publishing,” Redmayne said of his leaving.

Redmayne’s departure is sure to spark some intrigue regarding just how well Pottermore is doing. Under his direction, the site expanded attracting over 45 million visitors since its April 2012 launch. In addition, it has launched a platform to collaborate with other brands like PlayStation. There are even plans to introduce apps in the near future.
