‘Academy-nominated actor-director-writer-producer-artist’ James Franco has been named as the next recipient of Comedy Central’s legendary Roasts! The 127 Hours star took to Instagram’s new video service to make the announcement last night. This was then confirmed by Comedy Central this morning (July 10).
Franco will follow in the footsteps of stars such as Charlie Sheen and Roseanne Barr. He plans to take centre stage in a Roast set to be taped in L.A next month and air this coming Labor Day (September 2).
Alongside this the Viacom-owned network have also announced they have obtained the exclusive rights to Francophrenia, a production co-directed by Franco, who is also the documentary’s subject.
This will be available on Comedy Central’s digital and video on demand services after Franco’s Roast has aired.
