James McAvoy will be starring in a new movie called Filth which premiered a brand new NSFW trailer today, as well as a new promotional poster of McAvoy’s character riding on the back of a pig. Yes, a pig.
McAvoy stars as Detective Bruce Robertson, a corrupt policeman who is a bigot, suffers bipolar disorder and a cocaine addict. Robertson is in line to receive a big promotion and does anything and everything he can, including lying, cheating, stealing colleagues wives and exposing their secrets to get what he wants. However, all of that combined with his initial addictions and issues causes him to spin out of control and possibly unable to get a grip long enough to receive his promotion.
The film is based on the novel by Irvine Welsh who was the author of Trainspotting and Ecstasy. Jon S. Baird will be directing the film which also stars Jamie Bell, Joanne Froggatt, Imogen Poots and Jim Broadbent.
Filth is set to open in Scottish cinemas on September 27. The rest of the UK will be able to see the film on October 4 and there is yet to be a release date for the US.
