David Bowie released the video for his new single “Valentine’s Day” last night.
The icon announced plans for the premiere of the video yesterday on his Facebook page. The message read “It’s happening today. It gives us much pleasure to be able to announce the release of the new video for David Bowie’s upcoming ‘Valentines Day’ single”.
The video, which was directed by Indrani and Markus Klinko, is kept simple by having Bowie sitting on a stool while strumming a guitar in what looked like a half-finished building.
“Valentine’s Day” is from Bowie’s latest album, The Next Day. The album, which was released in March, came as a shock to fans as the singer-songwriter had scaled back his activities following a 2004 heart attack.
“Valentine’s Day” will be released as a 7” picture disc on August 19th in the UK and August 20th in the US, including a b-side of instrumental track ‘Plan’.
