As the world mourns Glee star Cory Monteith’s untimely death, the founders of Virgin Unite and Virgin Mobile Canada will honor his commitment to end child homelessness.

Monteith was never shy opening up about his past daemons and his homelessness as a child; he made it his mission to help end it.

He wanted kids to, “discover their strengths and potential through the arts,” said Richard Branson, Virgin founder.

The 31-year-old actor started Project Limelight with Virgin Mobile in May of 2012.

His commitment to the organization spread throughout many countries including Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

“We’ll never forget watching him on the streets in Canada working with homeless teenagers and with organizations like Foyer in the UK, inspiring and giving a lifeline of hope to young people who were overwhelmed that he took the time to walk beside them to listen and share his own story.”

People have been saying many different things in memory of Monteith, but something they all have been saying is how he had a big heart and was a genuinely nice guy. “We mourn the loss of a lovely human being with a big heart who moved mountains to make the world a better place. All of our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones,” Virgin said in a statement to the Huffington Post.

R.I.P Cory, you may be gone, but you and all your good deeds will never be forgotten.
