Next time you see someone stranded on the road, stop! It may be a rock star needing a ride to his own concert. That was the case for singer, Dave Matthews.
Matthews was on his bicycle on the day of the Dave Matthews Band’s July 13 show at Hersheypark stadium in Pennsylvania. Unfortunately for Matthews, the back tire of his bike blew out and he was without a mobile phone and stranded.
Two fans, Emily Kraus and her boyfriend, were on their way to the concert when they made a stop to help. After stopping, they realized that it was the famous singer they were now picking up. Matthews placed his bike on the couple’s bike rack and they were off to the concert. “So we didn’t know how to make conversation with him in fact, so we were talking about his tour and where he had come from,” Kraus told local news, WHP.
Matthews showed how grateful he was for the lift, telling the crowd about his generous fans and inviting them to dinner. He also gave them front row tickets and backstage passes, and signing their tickets “Thanks for the ride.”
