John Lithgow and Ellen Burstyn have been added to the star-studded cast of Christopher Nolan’s newest film Interstellar.
The Wrap has reported that a source close to Christopher Nolan has revealed that John Lithgow will be joining the cast.
The Wrap has also revealed that Ellen Burstyn, Bill Irwin (Rachel Getting Married), Timothee Chalamet (Homeland) and Mackenzie Foy (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2) will join the cast. It already, includes Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine and Casey Affleck.
Interstellar “centres on the discovery of an energy source from the Hawking radiation from a nearby black hole. Extra-dimensional beings that control the black hole may exist in the plot. Several plot points are allusions to general relativity and parts of Thorne’s research, including the gravitational red shift that occurs when the character is close to the vicinity of the black hole”.
Paramount and Nolan have both refused to comment on Lithgow’s casting.
