It seems it was time to forgive and forget for Jay-Z and Timbaland. The two evidently had a falling out towards the end of production on Jay-Z’s 2009 album The Blue Print II.
That’s news to us; but all’s well that ends well, and the two “put egos aside” to work on Jay-Z’s most recent effort, Magna Carta Holy Grail.

According to Jay in a recent interview, it took a bit of convincing to get his fellow music mogul on board this time. It was his good friend Kanye West’s idea to approach Timbaland, and initially the latter declined.
In Jay’s words, “It seemed like it was more about him than the actual album.”
In the end, though, Timbaland agreed and came on board to produce all but five songs on Magna Carta Holy Grail. In the same interview, Jay-Z let it spill that he and Kanye actually argued over two of the album’s tracks. West wanted the tracks “Oceans” and “Holy Grail” to appear on their joint album, Watch The Throne.
Jay-Z has also announced five UK and Ireland arena tour dates to promote the album. He’ll be hitting the following stops:
October 3 – Manchester, Arena
October 6 – Dublin, O2 Arena
October 10 – London, O2 Arena
October 11 – London, O2 Arena
