Glee’s Jane Lynch was a guest on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno this evening where she openly and emotionally spoke about her co-star Cory Monteith and his tragic death in a Vancouver hotel on the night of Saturday, July 13. She used the words “generous”, “adventurous”, “a real bright light” to describe him, and also as someone who knew how fortunate he was professionally , that he was “always aware it was a gift” and that he was “breathing rarified air”.

Sadly, the circumstances of his untimely passing will resurface when his final 2 films All the Wrong Reasons, but particularly McCanick are released (dates currently TBA). In the latter, Monteith is said to have almost campaigned for the role of a drug addicted youth working the streets – because of being able to use own experiences for the performance and probably in no small part because what he could bring to the role might be used to help others. Perhaps it still can.
