One of the most highly anticipated big screen adaptions of the year is Ender’s Game.
The 2013 film follows the basic storyline of the 1985 Orson Scott Card Science Fiction novel of the same name. The novel follows a young man named Ender Wiggin as he prepares for an anticipated alien invasion by the “Buggers” in futuristic Earth.
Ender’s Game will feature a cast that includes Asa Butterfield as Ender, Harrison Ford as General Graff, Sir Ben Kingsley as Mazer Rackham and Hailee Steinfeld as Petra Akranian, plus a screenplay by director Gavin Hood.
While the film will be released on November 1, San Diego Comic Con fans were able to catch a glimpse of the film yesterday as Butterfield, Ford, Steinfeld, Hood and Ender’s Game producer Roberto Orci surprised attendees at the panel.
However, while everyone was impressed with the preview, Slash Film reported that it was the once-and-possibly-future Han Solo actor stole the panel. A fan asked Harrison Ford what Solo’s conversation with Indiana Jones would be like if they met on the big screen.
“What would Han Solo and Indiana Jones say to each other if they met?” asked a seemly frustrated Ford. “Probably ‘Hi, how are you?’” The audience roared with laughter.
But the Han Solo questions kept on coming as one very lucky fan from Brazil asked the 42 star if the Star Wars character would be a good soldier for General Graff’s army? “I don’t think Han Solo would be a good soldier in anyone’s army.” said Ford. “He’s more, what we call now, an independent contractor.”
