Natalie Portman may be adding “director” to her resume. The actress was supposed to direct the film adaptation of A Tale of Love and Darkness in 2007, but there was no word on any progression of the project.

DigitalSpy reports via Israel Hayom that the Black Swan star actress has since completed the screenplay of the Amoz Oz memoir with two other writers – the screenplay was sent to Oz for approval. It was also reported that Portman will be location scouting in Israel this September.

Alongside directing and writing, the actress will also star. Don’t you just love when strong females in the industry just go all out like that? It is very Barbra Streisand circa Yentl.

The 32-year old is also currently working on Jane Got a Gun, a film in which she is set to star and produce. The project has had to work out some bumps in the casting of the male lead role, as Jude Law, Michael Fassbender and Bradley Cooper all backed out of the film.

Portman is also set to star opposite Fassbender in Macbeth directed by Justin Kurzel.

We can’t wait for this film, how about you? Do you think Portman can manage multiple roles in the project?
