Construction is going well on the Diagon Alley expansion at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Florida. Though the expansion is not expected to open until the summer of 2014, OrlandoParkNews are keeping Potterheads up-to-date with developments on site as they happen. And they certainly have a treat for you this week. While there’s still quite a way to go before these buildings are finished and the facades have not even started to go up, but we’ve been shown some photos of the site. There’s only one word to describe the expansion… massive. Based on the size of the buildings, the entrance to Diagon Alley is going to be huge.

From the photos it is a little hard to imagine what the whole thing will look like. Luckily, Universal Orlando released some concept art of the project in May. Cast your eyes below and image that superimposed on the images above… exciting isn’t it?!
The Diagon Alley ‘world’ will be located at the Studios. There will be a working Hogwarts Express that will shuttle visitors from Diagon Alley to the current Wizarding World at Islands of Adventure. However, these are two separate parks and visitors will need separate tickets to enter both.
As work progresses on the expansion, Universal has promised to share more of its features so make sure you follow PopWrapped for the latest news and announcements.
