Mr. Tumnus will be teaming up with Harry Potter in Paul McGuigan’s version of Frankenstein…no, wait. That’s not right. Let’s try this again.
James McAvoy has joined Daniel Radcliffe in an original telling of Mary Shelley’s classic Frankenstein (which is currently untitled) directed by Paul McGuigan (Sherlock).
Deadline has reported that the X-Man star will be playing the Victor Von Frankenstein.
Radcliffe will be playing the role of Igor, who (plot twist) will be the main focus of the film, rather than Frankenstein or the Monster, even though we never seem him in the Shelley classic.
Frankenstein is going to be a busy man in Hollywood over the next few years as there are two other remakes in the works; I, Frankenstein – starring Aaron Eckhart – and another one from director Guillermo del Toro who has been eyeing Benedict Cumberbatch for a role.
This version of the film will hit theatres in October of next year.
Why do you think Frankenstein’s Monster has reawakened in Hollywood? Are you excited? Let us know!
