Just when we thought the future of the highly anticipated sequel to Sharknado was in jeopardy, Tara Reid steps up to calm our nerves and set things straight.
Rumors were recently swirling that Tara Reid who stared in SyFy’s original movie would not be asked to return for the sequel, and in fact had been dropped from the project. Speculation was flying that the next installment would focus on Ian Ziering’s character Fin Shepherd. Reid played the estranged wife of Ziering’s character in the first tv-movie.
Reid posted her response to this rumor on Twitter:
There is no script for sharknado 2 until i read it then i will make a decision but everyone that is saying i got cut that is not true#liars

Producers also took to Twitter to clear the air regarding the rumors:
For the record, @TaraReid is awesome and was great to work with in #SHARKNADO. We’d be lucky to have her back for the sequel. That is all!

Sharknado will be premiering in the UK on Wednesday, August 7 on SyFy. The sequel will air next year.
