For the first time in their respective careers, Seth Rogen and Zac Efron will cross paths on the silver screen.
The Hollywood Reporter and Hit Fix have confirmed that Universal Pictures plans to release Rogen and Efron’s college comedy, Townies,on May 9, 2014.
Townies follows Rogen’s character, who is a first-time father raising his newborn baby with his wife (Rose Byrne]. Now that all sounds lovely and with much potential for comedy, but it’s the location of their house that puts a new spin on an old story. They live next to a fraternity house where Efron’s character is the leader of the rebellious organization. Can these three characters co-exist or will they duel it out to become the Top Dog of the neighborhood?
Rounding out the cast are Dave Franco, Lisa Kudrow, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Jake Johnson.
Townies is written by Andrew J. Cohen and Brenden O’ Brien and is directed by Get Him to the Greek’s Nick Stoller.
The film is going to have tough competition opening weekend as The Hollywood Reporter states that Townies will face off against Tyler Perry’s Single Mom’s Club and Jon Favreau’s Chef.
