According to Variety, The Hunger Games producer Nina Jacobson is to produce the upcoming movie Crazy Rich Asians. The movie is based on the comedic novel of the same name written by Kevin Kwan.
The story centers on three Chinese families’ reaction when the heir to one of the biggest fortunes in Asia takes his American-born Chinese girlfriend to a wedding.
“Crazy Rich Asians is that immersive page turner I am constantly searching for but so rarely find. Kevin’s writing took me into a world I’ve never seen or imagined and got me so invested in the romance at the heart of it that I could not put the book down until I saw whether or not they made it” Jacobson said.
Meanwhile, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is set to be released on November 21st.
