This is it! The news you’ve all been waiting for with bated breath! We have a title for the Sharknado sequel!
And it is…drumroll, please…
Sharknado 2: The Second One!
(Yes, really. We’re disappointed. We wanted Sharknado 2: Sharks In The City.)
For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the unique process whereby the film was named, here’s the deal: SyFy held a Twitter contest of sorts, asking fans to send in ideas. Sharknado 2: The Second One was chosen from over five thousand submissions!
As of right now there is no script, no cast, no story, and “no restrictions” to the possibilities of what we could see from the sequel.
Claims that Tara Reid had been dropped from the project were shot down by the actress via Twitter. Recently she went on record as saying that there was the possibility of “dinosaur sharks” for the sequel.
Rumors have also been swirling that Irish The X Factor UK darlings Jedward could make it into the film.
Sharknado 2: The Second One may not have much set in stone right now, but in addition to an official title it has been given a tentative release date of sometime in July, 2014.
