Mel Gibson is confirmed to play the bad guy in The Expendables 3, according to a representative for Sylvester Stallone.
Gibson was rumoured to be involved with the project earlier this year, along with Antonio Banderas, following tweets from Sylvester Stallone.
Although Gibson is confirmed, Banderas, who Stallone called “a consummate actor and a gentleman,” still hasn’t signed onto the film, but has been extended an offer for a role.
Gibson and Banderas will join Stallone and Harrison Ford. Ford replaced Bruce Willis in the cast after he reportedly demanded $1million per day to appear in the third film of the series.
Mel Gibson will also be playing the villain in the upcoming film Machete Kills, in which he dons a cape and threatens Washington with missiles.
The Expendables 3 is set for release in 2014.
