Alec Baldwin is in talks to host a new weekly show for MSNBC, according to Variety.
The show would air Friday nights at 10:00 PM ET and feature a large serving of Baldwin’s liberal politics, according to Mediaite, who first reported the news.
At the moment, Lawrence O’Donnell hosts a show at 10:00 PM, but only Monday through Thursday, meaning that Baldwin’s show won’t be replacing any of the network’s prime time talk shows.
Baldwin has a long history with NBC, from starring in the network’s award-winning 30 Rock for seven years to hosting Saturday Night Live more than once.
Sources insist that the deal is done but MSNBC hasn’t confirmed the news yet. Instead, representatives have said, “We’re fans of Alec but we’ve got nothing to say regarding this unconfirmed report.”
