Katy Perry Catches More Flack For Being CopyKaty

Singer Katy Perry has been accused of stealing copy-written ideas for her latest promo video. The new video from the single “Roar” shows the “Teenage Dream” singer typing the lyrics from “Roar” in a messaging app on her phone, while some of the words are substituted for emoji icons.

Producer Dillon Francis tweeted about the singer’s video, saying that it was a “rip off”  of another promo for his song “Messages.”

Francis went on to reference a recent argument between rapper Diplo and Flo Rida saying, “Damn first @official_flo steals @diplo’s “butters theme” music idea now @katyperry’s steals my “messages” music video idea…What the f**k?”

Francis later went on to write, “I’m not mad that last tweet was not sarcastic.” Singer Sara Bareilles has also dismissed suggestions that Perry’s “Roar” has similarities to her song “Brave,” which also made headlines.

“Roar” is currently available for download in the US and will be release in the UK on September 8. Prism, Perry’s fourth studio album, is set to be released on October 22.
