There are rumours circulating that Laura Prepon, the actress who plays Alex Vause on the Netflix original series, Orange is the New Black, is about to exit the show.
Several news and gossip websites are reporting that Prepon is leaving the series for good, but will apparently return at some point during season two to tie up any loose ends surrounding her characters storyline, but will leave it so that if she decides to, she will have the option to return in any future episodes.
While it seems possible, that on an inmate focused prison show, characters may come and go as inmates are transferred or released, however Prepon’s character Alex, is in a somewhat tumultuous relationship with the shows protagonist Piper (Taylor Shillings).
When asked about Prepon’s departure a representative for Netflix made the statement that is was “not accurate. Our season is still developing and nothing is confirmed”
So what do you think Orange fans? Would Prepon’s departure leave a hole too big to be filled or could the show carry on without her?
