Look out American Idol fans, Jennifer Lopez is returning to the FOX singing competition!
Multiple sources have confirmed that the “Live It Up” singer’s boyfriend, Casper Smart, has spilled the beans on her return to the aging singing competition, having sat last season out.
E!’s Leanne Aguilera wrote that Casper told the entertainment network that she will be returning to the judges’ panel in an interview about his new show: A Step Away.
After he said the “Yes” heard around the nation, it seemed to stir up something because despite being on the short list, Idol producers have not confirmed the new line-up or that Lopez is returning to the show.
This would not be the first time that Idol has asked the “On the Floor” singer to return.
The Hollywood Reporter wrote that Idol producers hatched a secret plot to remove superstar diva Mariah Carey mid-season and replace her with Lopez…until the “Vision of Love” singer’s legal team threatened litigation.
The only confirmed judge that will be back for Idol’s 13th season is country singer Keith Urban.
Meanwhile, Billboard has reported that hit producer Dr. Luke met with the show’s producers over lunch. Will Dr. Luke and J.Lo round out the American Idol: Season 13 panel?
