Scottish actor Ewan McGregor, who played Obi-Wan Kenobi in the newer Star Wars films, is rumored to return to JJ Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII, as a Force Ghost.
Speculations about McGregor’s alleged return started shortly after another rumor that speculated that Ian McDiarmid might also return to star in the upcoming film.
Obi-Wan and his ghost were both in the original Star Wars trilogy movies, but Alec Guinness, who played Obi-Wan, died in 2000.
Thanks to advanced development in CGI, or computer generated images, will make it possible for McGregor to appear in the same footage as Guinness in the upcoming movie (such as how Hayden Christensen was included in Return of the Jedi using CGI).
