Earlier this month, creators of the popular British show The Inbetweeners, confirmed that there will be a sequel to the first movie that will be hitting UK cinemas in August 2014.
One of the stars of the show, Blake Harrison, who played Neil in the first movie and the hit TV show, has admitted that when he first heard the rumors that the second movie would revolve around the death and funeral of a main character, he assumed it would be him!
Blake told Digital Spy, “I heard it was going to be based around one of the main character’s funerals and after not hearing anything about it for awhile, I was like, ‘Oh well, that’s probably me then!’”
Since fearing that he would be killed off, many other rumors have surfed on the premise of the movie and Blake says that early speculation of the plot shouldn’t be taken seriously.
“The press always seem to say stuff about it but it was only a few months back that it was going to be Neil’s stag do, then after that it was going to be one of the main character’s funerals, and now currently we’re all apparently flying to Australia,” said Harrison.
Harrison also says that if you want to know what the truth is, just go to the Facebook page that seems to keep current and correct information about the upcoming movie.
The creators of the show, Iain Morris and Damon Beesley, have said in reference to the sequel that it’s “the least we can do” for the fans that so heavily supported the show and the first movie.
The first Inbetweeners Movie grossed more than £41 million at the UK box office in the summer of 2011 which outperformed summer blockbusters such as Cowboys & Aliens and Prince of Persia.
With that said, I think it’s pretty clear that the sequel will be just as if not more successful!
