The drama continues between former BFFs Lady Gaga and celebrity blogger Perez Hilton. What drama you say? In case you missed it, take a few minutes read about the fallout and stalking allegations.
“Little Monsters,” Gaga’s version of Beliebers and Directioners, are diehard fans and will go above and beyond to protect their Mother Monster. After reading Gaga’s tweets about her former friend, the Monsters took to twitter sending death threats to Perez Hilton.
In the wake of this negativity and online bullying by her fans/followers, Gaga deleted her tweets and took to her Born this Way Foundation tumblr to address the situation.
She writes “While it may be difficult at times to hear the things that people say and write about me, or the nature of the industry that builds us up to tear us down, I feel the need to address you all here on behalf of the Born This Way Foundation.”
According to the The Born this Way Foundation mission statement, the site is “dedicated to creating a safe community that helps connect young people with the skills and opportunities they need to build a kinder, braver world.”
She continues “I ask you to take a pledge with me to continue the change toward positivity, and to recognize that this behavior is wrong. We are stronger than this. We know what we stand for, and what we stand for is bravery. I know this because what I see on the internet is not what I see at my shows. People deal with their insecurities in many different ways. The anonymous nature of social media has made it easy for many to vent their anger by bullying others with no recourse or accountability. But this is not a healthy way to handle your emotions.”
Will this heartfelt message from their Mother Monster stop the fans from sending messages to Hilton?
