Production company Entertainment One and Nu Image are developing a television series based on the movie series Rambo, which they will shop to networks in the States and internationally.
Sylvester Stallone, who starred in the original Rambo films, will contribute to the series on a creative level and may also reprise the title role.
The franchise began in 1982 with the first film First Blood, and three sequels followed in 1985, 1988, and more recently 2008.
Avi Lerner, who produced the 2008 Rambo film and The Expendables, is also attached to the project.
“I’m happy to be partnering with a prolific company like Entertainment One who has a track record of creating high quality programming for their broadcast partners around the world. And I’m excited by the prospect of collaborating again with my good friend Sly for an encore in this next phase of the Rambo legacy,” Lerner said.
