Jim Parsons, Dr. Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory, is a nominee this year and he says he’s beyond flattered about being up for an Emmy once more.
“If anything, I have to be frank, it’s really gotten sweeter” he said on interview with Entertainment Tonight, “I’m trying to soak in the joy as much as possible.
Surprisingly, he admits he was initially blown away by the popularity of the show. “I’m stunned […] It’s not that I don’t believe in myself or the product, but it’s such a fickle business. It’s all about opinions and what one person enjoys.”
“That feels like a bit of a rarity. I just count my blessings and am very happy that I still enjoy the job as much as I do.”
The Big Bang Theory was recently renewed for another three years, for a 7th, 8th and 9th season, respectively.
“There are many a good show and a good movie and a good play that have not made their money back for whatever reason. Now, we taped, probably, four episodes before the first one aired, and even then I felt really good about the show, what I was getting to do and how the live audience was reacting.
Don’t miss the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards on September 22nd, 2013.
