Eminem Previews New Album MMLP2 During VMAs

Tonight’s MTV Video Music Awards certainly have provided much to discuss over tomorrow’s water cooler. From the *NSync reunion to the debut of Lady Gaga’s “Applause”, from Macklemore’s stunning performance of “Same Love” to the bizarre performance by Miley Cyrus. However, it was also an ad early on in the award show that has a certain group of fans buzzing with excitement.

During an early commercial break in the show, Eminem’s new album, MMLP2, was announced. The new album, which is likely the acronym for Marshall Mathers LP 2, is out November 5. It is being directed by Dr. Dre and Rick Rubin. The original Marshall Mathers LP was released back in 2000 to great critical and commercial success so there are understandably high expectations for this follow-up. The “Lose Yourself” rapper took to Twitter in the lead up to the award ceremony teasing the release of his new album. Check out the commercial below:

In addition to the album’s trailer, Eminem has previewed his new music in a headphones commercial for Beats by Dre:

According to Eminem’s website, his new single “Bezerk” will be released this Tuesday (August 27).
