The upcoming US action-thriller, Jack Ryan, starring Chris Pine has reportedly been given a new title. According to sources the Paramount has been test-screening the movie’s first trailer using the name Jack Ryan: Shadow One.
Chris Pine isn’t the first actor to be taking on the role of Jack Ryan, created by Tom Clancy. The role has also been played in the past by Ben Affleck, Alec Baldwin, and Harrison Ford. In this film the audience will follow Jack into his early years in the Marines to his recruitment to the CIA by Langley analyst, William Harper. Harper will be portrayed in the movie by Kevin Costner.
Sir Kenneth Branagh will be doing double duty for this movie as he is not only the director of the project but he will also be playing the movie’s villain, Viktor Cherevin. Branagh’s character is a Russian Oligarch who manipulates the stock market whilst also being tied to some global terrorism. Fellow British star Keira Knightley will be starring as Jack Ryan’s wife, Cathy.
For those who’d like to see Jack Ryan: Shadow One, it’s due to open in theatres December 25, 2013!
