Gladiators, you don’t have to wait one second longer for your sneak-peek at the new season of Scandal – ABC has just released their first promo for season three!
Shonda Rhimes’s political thriller Scandal follows Kerry Washington as Olivia Pope, a character kinda-sorta based on George Bush’s press aide Judy Smith, who serves as a co-executive producer on the series.
Olivia, the head of a crisis management firm in Washington, D.C., specializes in protecting politicians’ public images; a problem, when you consider she’s found herself embroiled in an affair with the very-married Head of State himself. At the end of the second season, fans were left hanging after Olivia’s scandalous affair with the President was revealed to the nation (see what we did there?). Obviously, both fans and critics alike are loving the drama; Kerry Washington was just nominated for a Best Actress Emmy (after being notably left off the ballot in the show’s inaugural year).
This brand-new trailer called “The Battle Begins” hints that things may not be going very well for Olivia after the Presidental news breaks.
Scandal returns to ABC on October 3rd!
