The Vampire Diaries season five trailer has been released, and this season, the rules have changed.

It’s been a long summer for fans of Vampire Diaries, but now there is a 30 second trailer to tide you over these next few weeks until the new season launches on October 3.

30 seconds may not seem like a long period of time, but it’s long enough to get your blood pumping and it is certainly long enough to raise some serious questions…

Is Stefan (Silas?) developing feelings for the newly humanised Katherine?

Why is Jeremy in a fight, and just who is he battling?

Who was driving the car that crashed into the telephone pole?

 All these things crammed into one little teaser video, not to mention some very heartfelt “I Love You”s from Damon and Elena.

And what Vampire Diaries promo would be complete without a classic line from Damon “If I have to hear doppelganger one more time, I’m going to have to learn how to spell it.”
