Just recently HBO is building into the J.J. Abrams market.

Not too long ago the network company ordered a pilot for a Westworld adaptation from Warner Brothers Studios. The melodrama attempt, which is inspired by Michael Crichton’s 1973 movie of the same name, is cited as a dark journey about the dawn of manufactured consciousness and the future of sin.

J.J. is set to produce along with skilled producer Jerry Weintraub and Bad Robot’s Bryan Burk also with Person of Interest’s Jonathan Nolan who will be co writing the show, executive producing and directing it. Lisa Joy will join Nolan who will be co writing and and as an executive producer.  Both Kathy Lingg and Athena Wickham are set as co-executive producer and a producer appropriately.

The drama is being created by Bad Robot Productions, Jerry Weintraub Productions, and Kilter Films in affiliation with Warner Brothers. This act is the first HBO project with Bad Robot Productions, the known TV and movie company behind shows such as NBC’s Revolution and CBS’ Person of Interest. This network has a history of owning the majority of its series. This follows the recent outsider regulations from Fox 21’s Open from Ryan Murphy best known for his work on Glee and American Horror Story.
