Up until recently, twerk was just another made up word on Urban Dictionary.
Urban Dictionary defines it as “the rhythmic gyrating of the lower fleshy extremities in a lascivious manner with the intent to elicit sexual arousal or laughter in ones intended audience, the vigorously shaking of your Gluteus Maximus, and to work one’s body, as in dancing, especially the rear end”.
On August 28 2013, twerk became an official word in the Oxford Dictionary. The Oxford Dictionary officially defines it as “dance to popular music in a sexually provocative manner involving thrusting hip movements and a low, squatting”.
After seeing Miley Cyrus’s VMA performance, where she was practically twerking all over the stage, everyone has to know what twerking is…right?
Yeah, Morgan Freeman does not. He was recently on a morning TV segment for HLN called Morning Express where he had to talk about twerk becoming a word in the Oxford Dictionary.
“This is the first time that I’ve ever heard of it” He replied when the host of the show Robin Meade asked him if he knew about twerking.
“What? That’s not true, you said it on the golf course yesterday. I’m pretty sure” Meade replied back to him.
“I did? Was I sober?” Freeman quickly replied back to Meade
While it might have been the first time he’s heard of twerking, I’m sure his career won’t suffer because of now knowing about it. According to IMDB he’s got at least five movies due to come out in 2014. Three movies were already released this year with one more still due to come out.
Plus he will forever go down as being the Best God Portrayal ever.
His latest movie Last Vegas is due to be released to theatres on November 1, 2013. It’s a comedy film about four best friends, in their late sixties that throw a bachelor party in Las Vegas for the last single man of the group that’s going to be getting married.
If you can’t wait that long for your Freeman fix than you can check him out when his movie Now You See Me. It will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on September 3, 2013.
