Simon Pegg has admitted that he would love to be part of the upcoming third The X-Files movie. He told The Sun that he has been a fan of the popular sci-fi series for a long time and that he would happily sign up if he ever got the chance.

“I was a big fan of The X-Files and I’ve become friends with Gillian Anderson since,” he told the newspaper. “I’ve always loved the show so it’s definitely something I’d consider. It’s a great story and it would be nice to see it continue.”

He does, however, have one requirement: “It has to be with David Duchovny and with Gillian.”

But the interest seems to go both ways, as X-Files creator Chris Carter recently announced that he already considered hiring the actor for the previous movie titled X-Files: I Want to Believe.

“We actually thought about putting him in the second movie, but there was no part for him,” he told Empire last week. “I certainly would think about him if we were to go forward in any way.”

And who could blame him… wouldn’t it be great to have an ex-Time Lord villain in The X-Files? Let us know what you think!
