Fans of NCIS, The Big Bang Theory, and How I Met Your Mother can rejoice as CBS and Time Warner Cable have reached a “content carriage agreement.”

The agreement was announced Monday with programming returning at 6:00 p.m. ET that same day. The return of CBS programming ends a month-long blackout for nearly three million Time Warner Cable subscribers.

Time Warner Cable CEO Glenn Britt released a statement on the reached agreement saying “We’re pleased to be able to restore CBS programming for our customers, and appreciate their patience and loyalty throughout the dispute.”Time Warner Cable Chairman and CEO Glenn Britt: ‘We’re pleased to be able to restore CBS programming for our customers, and appreciate their patience and loyalty throughout the dispute’Time Warner Cable Chairman and CEO Glenn Britt: ‘We’re pleased to be able to restore CBS programming for our customers, and appreciate their patience and loyalty throughout the dispute’

The details of the agreement were not released, but it includes broadcasting rights to networks owned by CBS which include Showtime, CBS Sports Network, and Smithsonian Channel. According to a press release released by CBS, the agreement also includes retransmission consent, as well as Showtime Anytime and Video On Demand for Time Warner Cable systems in New York, Los Angeles, and Dallas.

In June the previous retransmission contract, which includes the fees Time Warner Cable would pay CBS per subscriber, expired; but programming continued as they were trying to reach a new deal. However, on August 2 Time Warner Cable stopped broadcasting CBS and CBS affiliated programming resulting in a blacked out programming for eight markets.

The new content agreement could not have come as a better time as avid TV fans await the start of the new fall season premieres.
