“One ticket to Far Hampton please” is the first sentence that every How I Met Your Mother fan heard the infamous mother say. The second phrase we heard her utter was in the new promo CBS released this week. The sentence was “Do you want a cookie?” to Lily, played by Alyson Hannigan, which was said while the two are sitting on the train to a destination where we can only assume is Far Hampton for Barney and Robin’s wedding.
CBS waited 8 seasons before allowing fans to have a glimpse of the mother and now after waiting all that time we’ve heard more words from her than we have in 8 seasons. With a two sentence conversation between Lilly and the mother it’s clear she’ll probably fit in perfectly with the crew we’ve come to know and love over 8 seasons. The conversation was between Lilly and the mother with Lilly saying “I’m sorry I tried to bite you” to which the mother replied “I’m sorry that I swatted you in the nose with a rolled up magazine”
As many know the mother will be played by actress Cristin Milioti and many are very eager to get to know the mother a whole lot more than just a couple clips in promos. We know very little about the mother now but by the time the show ends well know a whole lot more about the mother we’ve been dying to get to know.
