Earlier this week we got the first look at the RoboCop reboot with the first trailer; now we got the first poster.

We can see Joel Kinnaman portraying the man-robot police officer Alex Murphy with the tagline ‘Your Move’.

José Padilha is in charge of this new version, scheduled for release next year. Joel Kinnaman is taking over the lead role.

Set in 2028, where the conglomerate OmniCorp is the centre of robot technology, police officer Alex Murphy is critically injured by a car bomb outside his home. OmniCorp utilises their technology to save Murphy’s life, resulting in the part man – part robot we all know.

Also starring are Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson and Abbie Cornish.

In a recent interview with Los Angeles Times, Padilha said the film will keep the dark social-political edge of the original movie. Rather than following the recent superhero boom, mainly because the lead character “cannot touch his wife and son, cannot relate to humans”.

RoboCop will be released on February 7th, 2014.
