Emily Ratajkowski, the model at the centre of Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” video, has been cast to play alongside Ben Affleck in Gone Girl. This is her first major movie role, despite having appeared on Fox’s New Girl and Nickelodeon’s iCarly. The aforementioned role was highly contested among young Hollywood actresses.

Affleck plays Nick Dunne, who seems to be involved with the disappearance of his wife Amy, played by Rosamund Pike. Affleck’s character will have an affair with a beautiful college student, Andie (Ratajkowski), who ends up helping Amy’s parents incriminate Nick Dunne in her disappearance.

There is a wide variety within the supporting cast as well; Carrie Coon playing Nick’s twin sister, Tyler Perry as his defense attorney, Kim Dickens and Patrick Fugit as detectives, and Neil Patrick Harris in a supporting role.

Adapted from Gillian Flynn’s bestselling mystery novel, Reese Witherspoon and Bruna Papandrea are producing Gone Girl through their Pacific standard banner, with Leslie Dixon. The adaptation was done by 20th Century Fox and New Regency.

Production will begin in the fall and is set to release in 2015.
