Elton John Predicts A Meltdown In Miley Cyrus’ Future

Sir Elton John is certainly not afraid of a celeb feud… or three… But his latest comments might be stepping over the line.

“I look at Miley Cyrus and I see a meltdown waiting to happen,” the music legend told The Australian recently. “And she’s so young! But she’s got two records in the top 20, so who is going to stop her? Maybe it’s a British thing, but I can spot a car crash before it happens.”

Elton went on to compare Miley’s antics to Michael Jackson, telling press: “I was in my dressing room in Las Vegas when they announced that Michael Jackson was playing 50 dates at the O2. I turned to my agent and said: ‘He won’t do a single one of those.’ I could tell you he was going to die. He’d been doing drugs for so long, he’d been a mess for so long – and I’ve known Michael since he was 12 or 13 – that it was never going to happen.

He continued, “Everyone was saying it was going to be great and I was saying, ‘Hello? Are you looking at the real thing here?’”

We don’t think Elton was trying to suggest that Miley is “doing drugs” but it sounds as though he feels she might be too young to handle the pressures of fame.

Do you guys think he has a point or is he just using her celebrity to promote his new album?

The Diving Board is out already in the UK . It will debut in the US September 17.
