It looks like Kelsey Grammer is replacing Nicolas Cage in Millennium Films’ The Expendables 3.
Not that Cage ever officially signed on; in fact, Sylvester Stallone denied he was ever approached – but the rumors were persistent. And, honestly, we were getting excited about what his latest hair-piece would look like… just kidding! We love those Cagey locks!
But, as it turns out, Kelsey Grammer is close to cutting a deal, and he will reportedly play the role of Bonaparte, an ex-mercenary who lends the Expendables a helping hand in their new mission.
It’s a far cry from Frasier; but in recent years, Grammer has become somewhat known as a Hollywood tough guy. Grammer gained notable recognition as the aggressive powerbroker in Starz’s newly cancelled show, Boss, as well as his role as the villain in Transformers: Age of Extinction.
The Expendables 3 already boasts a pretty formidable cast, including: Sylvester Stallone, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Terry Crews, Antonio Banderas, Jet Li, Wesley Snipes and Dolph Lundgren.
It bodes well for Grammer that he worked with Stallone on John Herzfeld’s new movie, Reach Me, as Sly seems to be almighty behind the scenes of the action packed franchise.
Plus, Grammer is also about to launch into a new television series with Martin Lawrence under the same Lionsgate umbrella that will be releasing the new Expendables film.
