Marvel Eyes An Agent Carter TV Series As Next Project

It’s looks like Marvel, who has dominated the market of superhero movies, is looking for a takeover of the television market as well.

The highly anticipated fall drama, Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD, drew inspiration from a Marvel short film featured on The Avengers DVD/Blu-Ray release called Item 47. It seems like Marvel is continuing the trend with the newest short on the Iron Man 3 DVD/Blu-Ray with Agent Carter

According to Deadline, Marvel is in the very early planning stages of a series based around Captain America’s wartime love, Peggy Carter.

Right now there is not much known about the project. Marvel is looking for a script writer. It is also unclear if Hayley Atwell, who plays Carter, would also be involved with a project if it comes to fruition.

Entertainment Weekly speculates that the series would more than likely (for obvious reasons) be set in the Post-WWII era. The show would work better with a smaller screen budget should it happen. Since Agent Carter dealt more with the spy versus spy games, which would be easier on a network’s wallet.

What do you think of a spin-off for arguably one of the most badass women in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Yes or no?
