The CW’s superhero show Arrow isn’t short on gorgeous hunks or ladies. With a cast that includes John Barrowman, Stephen Amell, and Katie Cassidy, it’s easy to see the appeal. Add with that some great storylines, wonderful acting and new characters, and season 2 of the series is actually looking better than last season. And, with the addition of Summer Glau to the cast, it looks like Arrow is really going places.
As some of you Poppers already know, Summer Glau is a name attached to the Whedonverse with such cult favorites like the space western Firefly and its movie Serenity. She also appeared in The Sarah Connor Chronicles, which was based off of the Terminator movies. Trained as a ballerina, she has performed ballet in many of her roles including in another Whedon helmed TV show Angel.
No stranger to the sci-fi genre, Glau has been cast as Isabel Rochev, aka “The Queen.” Yes, Summer Glau is going to be a villian. For those who don’t know, Rochev was originally from Serbia, a slave, who met Robert Queen, of Queen Industries, when she was a young girl. After Robert’s death, she became CEO after purchasing several shares of the company.
The CW may decide to change some things about Rochev but we’ll have to wait and see. Until then, here is a glimpse of the gorgeous cast in the form of promo pics from the sophomore season premiere titled “City of Heroes.” The episode will air on Wednesday, October 9th.
