will.i.am. is currently suing Pharrell over the use of “i am” in his YouTube Channel called “i am OTHER”.
Pharrell first sued will.i.am. after he received a cease and desist letter from the artist asking him to stop using the term. The reason is that it would confused consumers with his i.am+ products.
According to Digital Spy, will.i.am had no plans to sue Pharrell over the use of the word. He was worried that people would confuse the two due to the fact that their both from the same record label and have the same style of music.
Now, will.i.am. is countersuing him for the same reasons as above, even stating that this is not the first time Pharrell has gone against copyright.
No word from Pharrell’s team about these new developments.
