Antonio Banderas Will Join Spongebob On His Next Movie Adventure

Spongebob SquarePants 2 is set to start filming next week in Georgia, and it looks like things will get caliente this time.
 
Antonio Banderas will join the cast as a pirate, officials involved in the movie confirmed today. The movie will feature a cartoon and live-action dynamic, just like in the last movie. This time we’ll follow Spongebob and his friends all the way from the bottom of the sea to the coast of Georgia – more specifically, Tybee Island and Savannah, where filming begins on September 30 and October 9, respectively.
 
The film is, in fact, a sequel to the successful 2004 SpongeBob SquarePants: The Movie, which grossed $140 million.
 
The voice cast of the TV show will reprise their roles, and it will be directed by Paul Tibbitt (animation) and Mike Mitchell (live action).
 
The film, simply titled SpongeBob Squarepants 2, will hit theaters on February 13, 2015.
